flwrk is a messaging app: direct messages, channels, rooms and circles, plus optional business phone lines and connections to outside messaging platforms. This policy explains what we store, what stays on your device, and what leaves our systems. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads or third-party advertising SDKs in flwrk.
Account information — a phone number or email address, and optionally a name, username and profile photo. flwrk uses passwordless sign-in: possession of the phone number or email is what authenticates you.
Message content — the text of messages you send and receive is stored on our servers so your conversations sync across devices and remain available when you sign in somewhere new. Treat flwrk messages as stored, not ephemeral, and not end-to-end encrypted.
Photos, video and voice messages — these are handled differently from text. They are relayed through our servers only until delivered, then stored on the recipient's device. We keep delivery metadata (who sent what, when, and whether it arrived), not the media itself.
Contacts — if you grant contacts permission, flwrk reads your address book to build your contact book and show which of your existing contacts are reachable. Permission is optional and flwrk works without it.
Camera and microphone — used only while you are actively capturing a photo or video, recording a voice message, or on a call.
Speech recognition — used to transcribe your own voice notes into text. This happens on your device wherever the device supports it.
Usage and delivery data — message delivery and read state, unread counts, push notification tokens, and basic diagnostic logs needed to operate and debug the service.
Paid accounts can provision real phone numbers to text clients from, each with a label such as a department or business line. When you send or receive messages through one of these numbers, the message passes through a telecommunications provider in order to reach the phone network, and that provider processes it under its own terms. Standard carrier records apply to those messages in the same way they would to any SMS.
You may optionally connect outside messaging platforms — such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or LinkedIn — so their conversations appear in the same inbox. When you do:
When you message someone who does not have a flwrk account — for example a client you text from a business line, or a contact on a connected platform — we create a minimal record for that person so the conversation has somewhere to live. It holds the identifier you messaged them at (such as a phone number or platform handle), any display name the platform supplied, and the conversation itself. These records are not accounts: those people cannot sign in, they do not appear in member listings or search, and no profile is built for them. If someone contacts us asking to be removed, we will delete their record and the associated conversation.
Signing up in flwrk creates an account on the Behov network — the same account system used by the Behov app and its companion apps. While you only use flwrk, your information is used to provide flwrk's features. If you later use the Behov app, your use of that app is additionally governed by Behov's own Terms and Privacy Policy, presented there.
To deliver messages and calls, sync your conversations across devices, send push notifications you have enabled, operate connected platforms and business lines, prevent abuse, and provide support when you ask for it. We do not use your messages for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell personal information.
We share information only with the infrastructure that runs the service — hosting, and the telecommunications and platform providers described above — and where we are legally required to. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Messages and account data are retained until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Media and voice messages live on the recipient's device and are removed when they delete them or the app. To delete your account and its stored conversations, contact us at the address below.
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted, which means we are technically capable of accessing them; we access message content only where necessary to operate the service, resolve a fault, or comply with the law.
flwrk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. Contact us and we will respond.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new effective date. Questions or deletion requests: support@behov.com.
